During Alexandra's time at Derby High School, she has taken multiple AP and honors courses! For extracurriculars, she has been a member of both the Spanish and National Honors society, claimed position of treasurer for Student Council, and was the Varsity captain of Derby High School's wrestling team.

Alexandra said her favorite part about high school has been the people she has met! She says that these people have helped her become the person she is today.
"My favorite thing about high school has got to be the people I have met. My classmates have really shaped me into the person I am, and have taught me valuable skills and I do believe I have bonded with them immensely over the years."

taking the next step
After graduating Derby High School, Alexandra is going to attend Quinnipiac University to major in Biological Sciences! With this degree, she plans on pursuing a career as a histotechnician. Although she's excited to graduate high school, she's aware of the new opportunites she's about to face in the coming months.
"I am very excited to graduate high school. While I am nervous, I know I have a plethora of opportunities ahead of me in a new environment where I actually feel like I can express myself and study the material I enjoy."

Advice for underclassmen striving for top 10
Alexandra advises that any underclassmen aiming for top 10 to make sure you're putting yourself out there while also making sure to take care of yourself doing so.
"For underclassmen, I would say prepare yourselves. There's always competition, so you have to really put yourself out there and drive. AP and honors classes are heavy workloads, so manage your time wisely."
